Respond Users in Disconnected State

Respond primary users that have not acknowledged dispatch for a period of time, will display as yellow in RescueNet Dispatch. This visual indication will help dispatch determine if an alternate communication method should be used to reach the crew in an urgent situation.

RescueNet Dispatch displays

The following figure shows the states and corresponding colors supported by RescueNet Dispatch.

Color   Status Description

Active

Respond primary user logged in
Inactive Respond primary user not logged in
Disconnected Respond primary user logged in but the device has not connected with the Respond server within 90s (default). This usually indicates an interruption of service for a primary user's device.

While there is no need to enable the display of a disconnected state, there is a configuration that you can adjust to increase or decrease the time before a device is classified as disconnect. However, the default of 90s has been determined as a reasonable amount of time. If you need to adjust the default, go to the following location in ZDMC:

Tools>Respond Server Configuration>ZOLL Respond Configuration>Global>Server Settings

User experience

Active, and Inactive states are updated in RescueNet Dispatch upon login or logout of the Respond application. Disconnected state is determined when a heartbeat between the Respond Server and Respond client has not been received within 90s (default). Once a primary device associated with a vehicle has been classified as disconnected, the vehicle will appear yellow in RescueNet Dispatch.

When a disconnected device re-establishes connectivity, Rescue Net Dispatch will update, and display the vehicle as green. This should happen within 10 seconds if the Respond application is running in the foreground, but can take up to 75 seconds if the Respond application is in the background.
